The Sarasota African American Cultural Coalition (SAACC) is entering an exciting new chapter of growth, visibility, and community impact and we are seeking a passionate, organized, and mission-driven Development Manager to join our team.

SAACC exists to preserve, celebrate, and elevate African American arts, culture, history, and heritage throughout the Sarasota region. As momentum continues to grow around our programs, partnerships, and long-term vision, we are building the fundraising infrastructure necessary to support sustainable growth and future impact.

Position Overview

The Development Manager will play a key role in supporting SAACC’s fundraising and development operations during an important phase of organizational growth. This position will work closely with leadership, board members, consultants, donors, and community partners to help strengthen fundraising systems, donor engagement, stewardship efforts, and overall development operations.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, collaborative, proactive, and excited about helping build something meaningful.

Key Responsibilities

Development Operations & Systems

  • Manage donor records, tracking, and reporting systems
  • Support gift entry, acknowledgments, and donor stewardship
  • Help establish and maintain organized fundraising processes and workflows
  • Assist with fundraising reports and donor communications

Donor Engagement & Communications

  • Support donor outreach and stewardship activities
  • Coordinate donor meetings, engagement opportunities, and events
  • Prepare materials and presentations for fundraising activities
  • Lead and coordinate annual giving and fundraising campaigns

Board & Leadership Support

  • Support fundraising activities involving the CEO and Board
  • Help track outreach, donor engagement, and relationship activity
  • Assist with meeting preparation and follow-up

Qualifications

  • 3 to 5 years of nonprofit development, fundraising, communications, or related experience
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
  • Experience with donor databases or CRM systems preferred
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a collaborative environment
  • Passion for community engagement, culture, and mission-driven work

Compensation
Salary range: $65,000–$80,000, commensurate with experience.
